Miranda Devine is an Australian-American journalist, columnist, and author, born on July 1, 1961, in New York City. She is known for her conservative commentary and currently works as a columnist for the New York Post and a contributor for Fox News. She also writes for Australian outlets like The Daily Telegraph and Sky News. Previously, she hosted The Miranda Devine Show on Sydney’s 2GB radio until 2015 and wrote for Fairfax Media newspapers such as The Sydney Morning Herald and The Sun-Herald.

Devine grew up in Sydney and Tokyo, attending Loreto Kirribilli and the International School of the Sacred Heart. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Macquarie University and a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University. Her career includes stints at the Boston Herald, the British Sun, and Sunday Times in London, and she briefly worked at Australia’s CSIRO Division of Textile Physics.

She is the author of two books: Laptop from Hell: Hunter Biden, Big Tech, and the Dirty Secrets the President Tried to Hide (2021) and The Big Guy: How a President and His Son Sold Out America (2024). Her reporting, particularly on Hunter Biden’s business dealings, has drawn significant attention, though some of her claims, like those about money laundering, have been debunked by fact-checking outlets like PolitiFact. Her columns often focus on U.S. politics, conservative issues, and controversial topics, sometimes sparking public debate due to her strong opinions on race, gender, and environmental issues.

Devine is the daughter of Frank Devine, a prominent New Zealand-born Australian journalist, and Jacqueline Magee. She is married, has two children, and lives in New York. Her work has earned her a Centenary Medal for service as a writer and social commentator, and she was an inaugural recipient of a RealClearPolitics award for defending First Amendment principles.
However, she has faced scrutiny, including a 2020 defamation settlement in Australia for nearly $200,000 over false claims about a video.
