Eva Mikhailovna is a talented singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known for her work as the frontwoman of the music group Eva and the Vagabond Tales. Born in Krasnogorsk, Russia, she moved to Riverside, California, at a young age, where she grew up in a musical family. Her mother taught her classical piano before she could even read or write, sparking a lifelong passion for music. She later picked up instruments like the clarinet, flute, guitar, ukulele, accordion, and upright bass, showcasing her versatility.
Her music blends Eastern European folk, vintage pop, and ragtime into a unique, nostalgic sound often described as "antique pop" or "old-world folk-pop." With Eva and the Vagabond Tales, she’s released three full-length albums—Letters From the Moon (2013), Uncharted Ocean (2019), and others—along with an EP and several singles. The group is known for its eclectic live performances, featuring storytelling, unique instrumentation, and even occasional tap dancing, often played at venues like Downtown Disney in Anaheim, where they have a residency.
Mikhailovna has also toured across the U.S. and Canada with Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, bringing her soulful voice and instrumental skills to a wider audience. Her work has been featured on NPR variety shows, commercials, and even in the title credits of comedian Erica Rhodes’ special La Vie En Rhodes. Endorsed by brands like Kala Brand Music Co., she continues to craft music that resonates with old souls, marked by raw emotion and timeless melodies.
